The Brighton Jones Leadership 1000 Scholarship
About the College Success Foundation
College Success Foundation (CSF) is changing lives through education. Their mission is to coach and support students from low socioeconomic backgrounds to prepare for and graduate from college as transformational leaders in order to forge a just and equitable society.
Since its inception in 2000, CSF has focused on expanding educational opportunities for underserved students. Today, they provide a pathway of services in 28 high schools and 18 middle schools in eleven high-need school districts, and provide ongoing support to our scholars in colleges across the State. CSF also administers major scholarship programs, boosting school capacity in financial aid advising, and advocates for equitable public policies. They work with students to motivate, inspire and support them in accessing and completing college.
Their aim is to improve educational equity for students who have been historically underrepresented in higher education due to financial, social and systemic barriers. Specifically, CSF works with youth from low-income families, students of color, those who are the first in their families to pursue higher education (“first-generation”), and youth who have experienced foster care or unaccompanied homelessness. They operate in schools with high levels of students in poverty and low college enrollment rates, that are not already well-served by other college readiness providers.
Since their inception in 2000, they’ve supported more than 12,000 CSF scholars earn a postsecondary degree, who otherwise may not have had access to higher education.
