Raising Great Decision Makers
Join us for a virtual event on “Raising Great Decision Makers!” hosted by Women Living a Richer Life for all Brighton Jones clients
About this event
As our client families begin to start a new school year, we want to provide some emotional wellbeing insights that can help all members of the household live a richer life.
How? Well, our experiences and the people we surround ourselves with provide the foundation for our ability to make independent informed decisions, and the earliest influence in our lives is our family. In our adolescent years, the conversations we have with family members serve as our first exposure in sharing ideas, developing trust, solving problems, gathering information, arguing our point, and feeling empowered to share stories. We invite you to join an insightful discussion with Julie Metzger, who will share strategies that families can implement with their children to strengthen communication and empower this next generation to make more educated choices.
Meet the Expert – Julie Metzger, RN MN
Julie founded Great Conversations, an organization that has spent the last 30 years helping thousands of families with teens and pre-teens feel more comfortable discussing puberty, sexuality, and decision-making. In addition to Great Conversations, Julie has worked as a pediatric nurse, consultant, writer and educator. Julie has helped design the health curriculum for elementary, middle, and high school students throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Bay Area. Her work has been featured in the New York Times and on the TODAY Show. With her colleague, Dr. Rob Lehman, she wrote and published Will Puberty Last My Whole Life? Real Answers to Real Questions from Preteens about Body Changes, Sex, and Other Growing Up Stuff. Julie also crafted a workbook/journal for preteen girls called This is Me – A Journal for Girls.
All clients are invited to register to attend this virtual event. Please feel free to share the invite link with guests who can benefit from this topic and who may have an interest in Brighton Jones.
